                          YOUTH NEWS AND EDUCATION

                          Sunday School

                          Sunday school is for children from 3 years old through fifth grade.
                          The children experience rotation Sunday school, role-call begins at
                          9:05 am. With rotation Sunday school the students are taught the same subject for three to four weeks but the method of teaching is changed from week to week. For more information contact Sue Brown.

                          The Sunday School children will be learning about when Jesus
                          appeared to the disciples and Thomas’ doubt in John 20: 19-29.

                          Kidzworks!

                          Kidzworks! will be on February 19, 2012. We will be enjoying pizza and celebrating Valentine's Day.  Everyone three years old through high school are welcome with activities for all ages.

                          Youth Involvement

                          Global Village Camp 2012: Join Crossways’ Pine Lake Camp, June 30-July 3 for an international, inter-generational, multicultural gathering for God’s people from all over the world. Keynote, workshops, Bible Study, swimming, hiking, worship, food, and more! Everyone is welcome...adults, youth and families. Register to attend the full 4-day event or just the day!

                          more information.

                          Confirmation Retreats: Eighth Grade will have a retreat on Luther on February 10-11, 2012 at the church and there will be a Fine Arts Retreat this spring.

                          Confirmation Mentors are needed for the eighth grade students during Lent!  Let Pastor Rich know if you are interested in this opportunity.

                          Youth Encounter Quake Zone is at the Chula Vista resort in Wisconsin Dells. This event with a band and speaker will be on March 9–11, 2012.  Check it out with Pastor Rich for more details.

                          Summer Events 2012
                          Mission Trips: we want to make plans for the 2012 youth trip destination.  Check with Pastor Rich, Darrell and Sue Stetzer or the church office at 715-359-4500 to express your interest.

                          Impact is a national youth event organized by Youth Encounter. 
                          It will be July 5-8, 2012 in Nashville, TN.  This event is to equip young people to live their faith in Jesus Christ!  Early Bird registration
                          deadline is February 8.  Contact Pastor Rich now if you are interested in attending this event.  For more information, go to www.youthencounter.org/impact.  We will need one adult for every five youth attending this event.

                          The Greater Milwaukee Synod Summer Immersion Experience is an opportunity for 9th grade to 12th grade youth to visit urban
                          gardens, medical clinics and city churches with vibrant ministries, to volunteer in Milwaukee homeless shelters, domestic violence centers, food shelves and affordable housing communities, to play interactive exercises about the causes of poverty and the survival choices homeless and working-poor families must make each month and to reflect on what we, as people of faith can do! During this experience youth will gain hands on knowledge and appreciation for urban ministry. Their faith will deepen, as well as their own personal development. It is affordable, you can choose a week in June, July or August, Housing will be at Casa Romero in Milwaukee and the programming will be provided by the Greater
                          Milwaukee Synod Staff.  Contact Pastor Rich for more information!

                          Lutheran Summer Music program will be June 24 to July 22 at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.  Check out the information at
                          www.lutheransummermusic.org 

                          Crossways Camps have a variety of programs for all ages. 
                          The early bird registration is March 15, 2012.
                          · Confirmation Camp will be the week of June 24-29, 2012.
                          · High School youth have other programs including Senior YET.

                          Other Bible camp opportunities include everything from canoeing in the Boundary Waters to backpacking in the mountains.  Check with Pastor Rich Block for information at 715-359-4500.

                          VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - HOMETOWN NAZARETH

                          Where Jesus was a kid!

                          A wonderful time was had by children, youth and adults as we explored what Nazareth was like when Jesus was a kid. Thank you to Sue Brown for coordinating the event and for all who taught, helped and donated items.
