All Are Welcome

"Jesus answered, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and you shall love your neighbor as yourself'" (Luke 10:27).
We are a welcoming congregation in Rothschild, WI. Here we gather for worship, study God's Word, encourage each other, and serve others. Using the gifts of the whole congregation, we strive to build up and become the body of Christ in God's world.
We rely upon God for strength, for direction, and to discern what God is calling us to do, here in this time and place. We pray that you grow with us in sharing the love of Christ with others.

Why the name "Mt. Calvary"?

Our church is on top of a hill in the village of Rothschild, WI so calling it Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church seemed like a natural choice.  But Jesus was crucified on a Mt. Calvary so why would a church choose that name?

Because what happened next is the amazing part.  When Jesus rose from the dead, everything changed!  He lives, so we might also live as a newly restored creation and in a loving relation with God and with each other.

Join us.  The path of Jesus through Mt. Calvary was the incredible journey of saving grace for us all.  So, too, our journey at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church is one where everyone matters as we share God's love and forgiveness.
Let us live that life together.

Note:  The name 'Calvary' translates from the Latin term.  Some Bibles use the Aramaic translation "Golgotha' for the place of Jesus' crucifixion.
