Jesus answered, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and you shall love your neighbor as yourself'
(Luke 10:27)

"for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me."  ~Jesus the King in Matthew 25: 35-36

Who We Are

He has shown you O mortal, what is good.  And what does the LORD require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.   (Micah 6:8)

Our Purpose

To help fulfill God's mission in the world, the people of Mt. Calvary will:

  • Trust in prayer
  • Faithful to God's Word

Vision
We believe God is calling us to:
  • Know and follow Jesus' teachings
  • Gather in Spirit-led worship
  • Share the peace and joy of life in Jesus Christ
  • Care for the community and each other

Guiding Principles
Because we believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior we will:
  • Deepen our faith in Christ to better serve others and tell the Good News
  • Create an open, inviting, safe space where you are accepted
  • Intentionally serve the broken-hearted
  • Equip and empower people for ministry to make a difference in the world
  • Be spiritually bold and share our faith
  • Inspire Christ-centered relationships in the community
  • Trust in God to sustain our vision

"Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age'" (Matthew 28:18-20)

What We Believe

We believe that God is good.
The abundant and gracious love of God overflows into our lives. We, in response, are to praise, serve, love, and obey God.
We believe in God the Father.
The Father is the creator of all that exists, providing us with all that is needed. God has blessed each person with spiritual gifts and abilities that are meant to build up the church, the body of Christ.
We believe in God the Son.
Jesus, through his innocent suffering and death upon the cross, followed by his glorious resurrection, is our Lord and Savior!Through Jesus Christ, we are invited to repent of our sin and to be forgiven of all that we have done and left undone.
We believe in God the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit moves and challenges us to believe and act in ways that are faithful. A part of this journey is the discipline of reading the Bible, corporate worship, and prayerful quietness.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
This living Word confronts, comforts, and challenges us to live our faith daily.
We believe that the church is the Body of Christ in this place and time.
Through weak humans, God has chosen to be present and to work. Together we seek to encourage, uplift, forgive and guide one another so that we may deepen our love for God and for one another.
We believe that the church gathers to worship to praise God.
God is to be glorified. The focus of our worship, in whatever style, is to praise God.
We believe in the power of prayer.
Together and individually we are refreshed and strengthened by listening to and speaking to God.
We believe that God is present in the Sacrament of Baptism.
In a powerful way, God calls us as children of God. Baptism is only the beginning of a lifelong journey of growing in faith and trust in God. God empowers us through the Holy Spirit to use the gifts God has blessed us with to make a positive difference in the church, our community, and the world.
We believe that God is also present in the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
All are welcome to come and receive the gift of God’s love, through the sacrament or a blessing (young children), reassuring them of God’s love.
