The Warmth of our QuiltersThe Quilters of Mt Calvary have been stitching for roughly 50 years. Once the quilts are finished, they are boxed up and sent to Lutheran World Relief. Next, they are shipped to various countries in need, where they are used as: a shield against the elements, a simple tent, a floor covering, or even a wrap to hold a baby on a mother's back. In 2018, we shipped 54 quilts as part of the 323,610 quilts shipped to 21 different countries. Join our team. We are proud of the Quilters of Mt Calvary.
MAT Ministry
Helping the Homeless...
We are very proud of our MAT Ministry. This amazing ministry team will spend 20 hours transforming between 500 to 700 plastic bags into one sleeping mat for a homeless person. Several mats are crafted throughout the year. When the mats are complete, they are sent to the Catholic Charities Wausau Community Warming Center. These mats are valued by folks who sleep outdoors. The mat acts as a barrier from the damp ground. Also, this is a great way to recycle an everyday item. Go MAT Ministry!
