Live in Obedience

For the follower of Christ, giving is a crucial part of living in obedience to God:
  • Giving is an active demonstration of faith. When finances are tight giving isn’t always easy to do. But when we still give we tell God that we trust Him to provide all of our needs no matter the circumstances.
  • Giving is an expression of gratitude to God for all He has done for us. It is one of the best ways we can say “Thank you” to the Lord for His abundant goodness in our lives.
  • Giving on a consistent basis displays faithfulness and integrity. Through our offerings we prove to be faithful stewards of all that God has entrusted to us.
Thank you for your generous support and faithfulness.
Jesus knows us so well. He knows that our hearts are tied to our wallets and purses. Matthew 6:19-21 speaks to this truth - “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

IRA Required Minimum Distribution

Did you know?
If you donate an IRA Required Minimum Distribution directly to Mt. Calvary, it is not taxable income to you.  This is considered a tax-free Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) and will not be included in your taxable income.  One very important point – the check cannot be payable to the IRA account owner and instead must be made payable directly to Mt. Calvary.  The IRA owner must be at least 70-1/2 or older on the date of distribution, not merely turning 70-1/2 sometime that year.  Check with your financial advisor and keep Mt. Calvary in mind with your financial planning!

 Endowment Fund

Have you considered giving a lasting legacy to the church? By contributing gifts or bequests to the Endowment Fund, to be maintained on a long-term basis, it will provide support for the church’s mission into the future.  The mission opportunities supported by the endowment fund are separate from the general operation of the congregation.  Once the fund exceeds $50,000 the income generated from the investment will be available for disbursal.  The original contributions are not withdrawn and will perpetually support ministries at Mt. Calvary.

Ways to give to the Endowment Fund:
  • Cash contributions.  Any amount of cash contribution can be designated to the Endowment Fund.
  • Estate or Planned giving.  Bequests and Trust Gifts made through your Will can be distributed into the Endowment Fund.
  • Stocks, Bonds and/or Mutual Funds, Real Estate and Securities.  Gifts of appreciated capital assets may also provide you with a tax benefit.  Check with your tax advisor for details.
  • Life Insurance Policies.  Anyone can name Mt. Calvary Mission Endowment Fund as a life insurance beneficiary. Proceeds payable upon your death may be tax deductible and may be exempt from estate and inheritance taxes.  Check with your tax advisor for details.
  • Retained Life Income Gift.  You may set up a charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust with the proceeds benefiting the fund.
  • Memorial Gift.  Anyone can make a make a memorial gift to the Mt. Calvary Mission Endowment Fund.  You may include this fund as a listed option for memorials from a family members funeral or memorial service.
